Music at The Cathedral
The mission of the people of the Cathedral is to love, know and serve
God as a community that: Gathers in joyful worship [and] Proclaims
and lives the Good News of Christ as servants in the world . . .
The music program at the Cathedral
provides many members of our congregation with ways to enhance their
worship and proclaim the Good New of Christ.
Adult Choir
The
adult choir sings each Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. service from Labor
Day through Trinity Sunday and is open to all adults aged sixteen
and older. The ability to read music is helpful but not required.
The choir rehearses on Thursday nights from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., and
again at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings. In addition to singing on Sunday
mornings, the choir also participates in special services and concerts.
If you are interested in joining the adult choir, please contact Ken
Brown.

Cathedral Consort
The
Cathedral also has a "Cathedral Consort" which is comprised
of adults aged sixteen and older who volunteer their time and talents
to add instrumental music to the worship service. All instruments
are welcome (instruments used in the past have included flute, clarinet,
trombone, percussion, tuba, guitar and strings). Although music is
arranged according to ability, a reasonable level of proficiency is
required. Volunteers are expected to rehearse music prior to rehearsals
and to attend rehearsals and performances. There is no established
schedule for Consort performances, but any and all instruments will
be called on from time to time during each church year. If you play
a musical instrument and would like to join the Cathedral consort,
please contact Ken Brown.
